About our hostel... The poets' corner is owned and run by former backpackers. We've tried to create the kind of place that we would like to stay at ourselves; friendly, clean, central, and with plenty of information about the city, the country and the language. Make use of our spacious 6-bed dorms, sunny well-equipped kitchen and cozy common room, while you discover unique 1000 year-old Olomouc. It's historic centre is second in the country only to Prague in architectural importance. The university and it's 12000 students ensure a rich cultural program of concerts and festivals, not to mention a bizarre blend of characters in the bars and cafes. Oft-forgotten Moravia is a beautiful historic land that most travellers have never heard of, let alone explored. You'll encounter the famously friendly, outgoing people, flourishing folk traditions, and no mass tourism or tacky souvenirs. The spectacular castles, Helfstyn and Bouzov are close to Olomouc, as are the Javoricko caves, UNESCO-listed Kromeriz, and the foothills of the wild Jesenik mountains. |
